Collaboration

Whiteboard Collaboration Artifact

Ms. Teske and I both teach 3rd grade Social Stuides, which looks at the state of Michigan past and present. We've recently been talking about the great and where they were located. For thIs we did a whiteboard collaboration to see if our students could identify the Great Lakes.

In the future, I can see using collaboration to talk with other third grade classes across the district and state about different things they are doing or studying in their classroom.

I plan to use collaboration to do a group writing assignment. I will start the class with a story stem and each child will have an opportunity to add to the story that will be saved on Google Docs. Another idea would be to create a math problem on a whiteboard in Baiboard, and have a student solve it. Then that student would create the next problem. Keep solving and creating different problems daily by different students. I also plan to use both apps for our reading Story Trees we create with every expository book we read. Students will be able to add information as we read more of the story, and then will be able to compare previous Story Trees with the current.

  1. Did your students like collaborating on the Great Lakes activity? Nice screen capture. Wow, you have some super ideas for future activities! Hope you get to try some or all of them.
