Staying Informed

News Artifact:

The article I shared on Twitter from USA Today:

Ideas:
1. USA Today ease of using the app makes it user friendly for parents and students from all experience levels. Parents and students both could easily access any article in the app.
2. The easy of finding pictures that are all school appropriate (at least everything I thought of to search) for students to include in digital presentations.
3. Students would be able to quickly search for articles that relate to topics and/or current events.

Staying Informed-Personal Magazine Artifact:

For the love, I could spend HOURS on Flipboard, oh wait I just did!!!!

My husband has been talking about the app for months now and I've been ignoring him. Did I really need another way to save things? I already have Pinterest and Three Ring and LiveBinder. I didn't see a use for another place to store information or ideas that I probably wouldn't have time to do anything with...and then I tried it!!!!

Holy WOW!!!! The information, articles, tweets, newspaper clippings, magazines, etc I now have access to is amazing!!! This type of resource makes collecting information (both facts and opinions) a breeze. I've been toying with the idea of starting my own classroom technology project, using social media like Twittter, Facebook, Blogger, etc to keep in contact with parents, especially with the amount of snow days we've had this year. I could use Flipboard to provide articles to parents and students, via social media, for extra practice on days off, extra credit assignments, information to assist in homework, etc. The possibilities are endless!!!
