21 Things 4 iPads - Thing 5

Presentations

Artifact

created a presentation in Prezi, originally intended on using it for my classroom writing lesson on Thursday. The creation of the presentation itself wasn't overly difficult, but trying to figure out how to play it while teaching and use my iPad to control my computer proved to be more cumbersome the I had imagined.

I think the program itself is a valuable tool and one I'd like to play with it more in the future, but I defiantly need to find a different way to present the lesson to the class. For my students, this would be a very easy program to use to present their Informational Writing pieces to the class on a few weeks. The students are going to write their informational piece based on an animal and a Prezi will create an easy way for them to share their information they have learned. My concern with only one iPad is how to get all 18 students time to create their presentaions quickly and not take a month to get everyone a turn. Ideas?!?!

  1. Good ideas for using Prezi and nice presentation on steps of informative writing. Did you end up just showing your prezi via prezi.com and your teacher desktop?

If you only only have one iPad and 18 students, maybe you and your students could use the edu option of prezi.com. See http://prezi.com/prezi-for-education for more info. Teachers (and their students) can get a free "Enjoy" level license of Prezi.
